Anna Chaplaincy
Anna
Chaplaincy is a person-centred ministry for older people – those living in
their own homes as well as those in care homes, residential homes or sheltered
accommodation. We also include their
families, friends and the care home staff within our ministry.
Anna
Chaplaincy includes ministry to those who have a faith but also for those who
have little or no faith.
In
the Diocese of Rochester we also support those who are living with dementia,
their carers and families and try to raise awareness of those who are living
with dementia.
Anna
Chaplaincy is a voluntary role within the church and the role varies depending
on the needs of people at different times.
It
can include taking Communion to those who can no longer get to church, visiting
the local care homes and taking services there as well as spending time with
the residents.
With
others from the church, we visit care homes at special times of the year
including holding carol services at Christmas.
