Hoo St Werburgh Parish Church

We are very pleased to welcome children to our services. We have a designated space especially for the Under 4's where parents can play with their little ones during the services.

On two Sundays of the month, during the Communion service (between the Gloria and the Peace) we offer a group for children aged 4 to 11. We currently have 6-8 children in our Children@10 group. We use Scripture Union's 'Mosaic' resources which are designed for small groups with a wide age range. Please check the calendar to see when Children@10 is running.

On most other Sundays we currently offer activities at the tables to the side of the nave, but we also encourage the children to sit and participate in the service with their parents.

From time to time we will post pictures and audio files from our children's group.

News from Children@10

March/April 2018

We are learning about the prophet Jeremiah, starting with the idea of God as the Potter. It is good to remember that God can help us make a fresh start when we make mistakes.

January/February 2018

We are learning about some of the healing miracles Jesus performed. Recently, the group learned about leprosy and the effect that it had on the sufferer as the community rejected them. They went on to think about individuals and groups today who are rejected by their communities.

November/December 2017

Our new topic is all about Daniel. We discovered that he was a very clever young man who was able to share his knowledge of God with a very powerful King.

September/October 2017

Our theme for September and October was 'How Should We Pray?'

During a recent session the children made a 'radio' recording of Luke 11: 5-13, providing the sound effects for the story. Please listen to it here. Well done everyone - good job!
